Review:
Going into this book the synopsis really intrigued me but I had read the first two books in her beautiful creatures series which she co-wrote with Kami Garcia and to be honest I got a bit bored of them. I put aside my dislike for that series and decided to give her a chance, and I was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't say this was amazing because I felt as though there were some parts of the story that were rushed and then other parts where I felt myself saying "just get on with it" haha.

The first maybe 100 pages gave it a solid start but after that it kind of fell through and I found myself get disinterested but I pushed through. I feel as though there needed to be a bit more character development, there was not much substance to them and I found it hard to find anything I could relate to them with. I didn't really like the main character Dol as she got on my nerves. Also enough with the love triangles in YA I am so over it.

Over all I think that the concept of the book was awesome but I think it needed to be hashed out a bit more, especially with the characters. For the most part it was enjoyable but not something I would rave about. If you like young adult sci-fi then this one is for you. Let me know if you have read this and what your thoughts are on it.
The start was super intriguing, I mean her parents are murdered by one of the Fae in front of her and her sisters. I really liked the Heroine Jude as she was headstrong and didn't let the bullies get to her, she held her head up and didn't let them know how much their comments affected her. There were some parts of the book where it felt a little slow and I started to get a bit bored but it never lasted long and picked up the pace pretty quickly. I feel the reason I felt it to be slow was the politics as there was a quite a bit of info for me to wrap my head around.

The world building is fantastic and I love the fact that the book had a touch of romance but it didn't overshadow everything else, it was sporadic. I am exited to see where the rest of the story goes as we were left on a bit of a cliff hanger.

If you love fantasy and Faeries then this one is for you. Jordypaigebookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05969234196712865017noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054146022999940812.post-55605223744462404462018-05-19T15:54:00.001+12:002018-05-19T15:56:56.683+12:00A Court Of Frost And Starlight by Sarah J MaasTitle: <span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "copse"; font-size: 14.85px;">A Court Of Frost And Starlight
I thought that Feyre's story had ended in A Court Of Wings And Ruin but then I found out that this book was coming out and I was super excited to get to read more Feyre and Rhysand scenes. This book takes off where we got left in the last one. Both Feyre and Rhys have been busy trying to put things back together again and barely have any time for one another. I loved the banter between all the characters and I thought it was an awesome send off to Feyre's chapter. I thought it was cool to see a bit more of Mor's point of view, I am very interested to see where her journey leads. Especially with her awful father. I also loved the chapters with Nesta and Cassian, I am really looking forward to the next book in this world and I hope that it is their story! This book tied everything up nicely and it was just cool to see how everyone adapted to the changes after the war. Highly Reccomend and I will be counting down the days till the next installment!

Happy Reading Everyone! :DJordypaigebookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05969234196712865017noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054146022999940812.post-52041309799099430172018-01-21T13:17:00.001+13:002018-05-19T16:35:20.119+12:00Year One by Nora RobertsTitle: <span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "copse"; font-size: 14.85px;">Year One
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "copse";">Nora Roberts is not an author I ever thought I would read... her books just aren't my cup of tea. I work in a bookstore so I get to go to these publisher events and I got an advanced copy of year one. The first thing that caught my attention was that part of the book was set in the "Scottish countryside" and Scotland is in my top 3 of places I want to visit. Also fantasy is my favourite genre so I decided to give it a go and boy was I surprised. This novel read so well, I couldn't put it down. The world building is phenomenal, I could see the world so vividly and I honestly think this would make a great tv show! Basically the premise of the book is that there has been a virus outbreak which has killed billions of people and those that have survived are either normal or have developed these supernatural abilities. I love the multiple p.o.v's and how their stories intertwined. The next installment can't get here soon enough, if you like fantasy then this one is for you.

This book is absolutely phenominal and words cannot describe how much I enjoyed it. It also teaches us readers to really think about the things that we say and how we say them because you never know how it may affect someone. This is definitely my favourite read of the year and I think it's actually now in my top 5 favourite books of all time. I also wanted to read this before the movie came out. I was pleasantly surprised but this one. Constantly I was wondering who the killer is, coming up with different scenarios but none of them came close to the truth. This is a book that you will most definitely fly through and I highly recommend giving it a chance. Honestly there is not a lot I can tell you about this book without giving anything away but if you are in the mood for something with a bit of mystery then this ones for you. If you want a challenge to figure out who the murder is before the author tells you, then give this one a go.

Jordypaigebookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05969234196712865017noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054146022999940812.post-10876941971711340432017-05-09T21:14:00.000+12:002017-05-09T22:15:23.495+12:00Stalking Jack The Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

<span style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Review:
As of late I have honestly found it so hard to get stuck into a book but this one took me by surprise. Generally I tend to stay away from the Historic genre as it's just not my cup of tea but i'd been hearing people rave about this and decided to give it a shot. Boy was it worth it. I think the thing I usually have a problem with is the writing as it tends to sway to an old fashioned tonne which I don't like but this wonderful masterpiece made me forget what time it was actually set in. The world building is phenomenal and I could not put this down. The writing flowed nicely and I found there was rarely a dull moment to be found.

My favourite scenes were the ones with Audrey and Thomas, the banter between the two of them was on point and I was constantly giggling to myself. I am sure I sounded like a mad woman haha. I loved how Kerri interwove true historical facts about Jack the Ripper into the story it made it feel all the more real. Audrey's character is one I have to say is now in my top 5 female characters. She is strong and independent, never did I feel like she was needy or annoying like many lead characters I could name. When Audrey's father told her that she could no longer be her Uncle's apprentice, I admired that she refused to listen to society telling her how to be and instead followed her passion even if that meant disobeying her father. I can't wait to follow on with Audrey's story as it is obviously far from finished. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.
Sarah's world building is on point, I am always left with a clear image in my mind... and boy do I wish I lived in this world haha. One character in particular that I love is Lucien, he is down right hilarious and I found myself constantly laughing. I think that's something super important in a book, it can make you laugh but not just in your head but out loud. This book is the kind that you want to read in one sitting. ACOTAR has a bit of everything, its got action, romance, suspense, mystery. What more do you need?
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">If I had to say anything bad about this book it would be that in certain scenes Feyre would talk about Tamlin and how "gorgeous" he is and his muscles. It just got a bit excessive and yeah I get he's attractive he's high fae but learn when to stop haha.

<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">This is a book that I highly recommend, I actually enjoyed it a lot more that throne of glass dare I say. Even if your not that big into fantasy and love romance, pick this up because once you start reading you wont be able to stop and let me tell you. A Court Of Mist And Fury is even more phenomenal.

Jordypaigebookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05969234196712865017noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054146022999940812.post-81708425707495263562017-04-17T16:00:00.002+12:002017-04-17T16:02:15.532+12:00The Road To Winter by Mark Smith

It didn't take long to read at all. This book gave me a lot of Tomorrow when the war began by John Marsden vibes but was also different in so many ways which is awesome because there are some books i've read and you really have to think if you've already read the book as it sounds so familiar. One thing you should take into consideration if you decided to read this, it is apart of a series which I didn't realise until I had almost finished the book, oops. If you are someone who enjoys a good post-apocolyptic read then this one is for you or maybe you've never ventured into this kind of genre before and must say it's a good place to start!
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 14px;">
Warning! Some minor spoilers ahead!
<span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 14px;">

<span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 14px;">
Now to go into a bit more detail. In the book it talks about this virus that has killed so many people, it's been 2 years. So where is the Aid? Is nobody going to help them out, and what caused the virus in the first place. So many questions. Rose seemed to use Finn a lot and she never seemed to tell him the full story.
<span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 14px;">
Rose's character for the most part got on my nerves, I can't fully explain it but one of the main things that irked me was when she would call Finn "Dog Boy". I would hate someone giving me a name like that.
Something that I didn't pick up on and honestly I don't know how I didn't was Rose being pregnant. It was basically spelled out for me to but I just didn't see the signs.
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">I quite liked our main character Finn, he didn't make to many rash decisions and he was quite mature for his age. He knew how to look after himself and he didn't let his situation get the best of him. I also really liked to read Kas' character, I never saw her as a damsel. She could take care of herself, Kas was pretty awesome.
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Two big question I hope will get answered in the next book is Will Willow get reunited with her Parents? Are they dead? Also how in the world are they going to get Rose's baby back?
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">
Overall I quite enjoyed this and I will definitely look out for the next installment.Jordypaigebookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05969234196712865017noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054146022999940812.post-30497252398698395912017-04-03T21:40:00.000+12:002017-04-05T20:19:53.944+12:00Singing Fire by T.L. <span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: 14px;">I really enjoyed the writing as it was super easy to get into and I rarely found myself wishing the pace would speed up because majority of the time it was awesome. The world building was also really well done. It made me feel as though I was actually there, I couldn't imagine it in my head so early. Something that I really enjoyed was that the main character Charlie struggled with panic attacks and she wasn't very good with social situations which I think was executed well. It was awesome to see Charlie's character grow and change into a more confident woman. Though there were times were I got annoyed with her character as she made a few rash decisions and was so fixated on being the hero that it got her into trouble.
At the start of the novel it mentioned how Charlie had 3 birthmarks behind her ear but then I don't remember it mentioning anything else about it through out the novel. Perhaps that will be explained in the next novel? Like why she is the opal.
Review:
*There are a couple of spoilers in this review so if you have not read Red Queen or Glass Sword I suggest you don't read this and come back once you have :)

So when I started this, I could not remember for the life of me what happened in the first book Red Queen .... oops. So I will admit that it was a bit hard to get into this one which was really frustrating because I quite liked the first one. I think it was about 150ish pages in that I really started getting back into it. I certainly got more invested in the story as I remembered things. Mare was A bit annoying at times, some of the choices she made were not always the best and she can become a bit whiny.

I love Cal, there is just something about his character that makes me swoon haha, though there was one point where I was like seriously Cal why would you not comfort Mare after Shade's death, she needed you! There were definitely some intense scenes thrown in there that had me on the edge of my seat. I was honestly quite shocked that Shade died, he got brought back at the end of Red Queen only to be killed. That just seemed so unfair! There is this one line on the end of page 250 "If I am a sword, I am a sword made of glass, and I feel myself beginning to shatter" I just love the sound of that and I have a feeling that this line inspired the title of the book. After finish Glass Sword I can still say I really hate Maven with a passion, he is so awful I can't stand him but I guess thats what makes him the perfect villain, he is truly evil even though he "tries" to hide it from his people.

One thing that is constantly brought up is Mare's lack of trust, it frustrated me a bit because not everyone is out to get her honestly I felt she need to grow up at times and pull on her big girl pants. Another Character that I started to love was Shade, he was not in the first book very much and we get to see a lot more of him in this book which was awesome. I do hope in the next book we will get to see more of Mare's other brothers. Also the way this ended makes me wonder what the fate Mare will have. Having her chained like a dog my goodness I wanted to punch Maven right in the face. Hard. I will definitely be re-reading Red Queen and Glass Sword again before the release of the 3rd book in Feb next year.

Overall: I liked this one, I can't say I liked it as much as Red Queen but I enjoyed it. I would still recommend this series to anyone who loves fantasy as the good outweighs anything negative and it doesn't help that at the start of the books I wasn't really into it. :)

I've had this one sitting on my shelf waiting to read for a while now. From what I remember I really enjoyed the first book in this series so I am sure I will love this one. Also if anyone is interested I saw that Red queen is going to be made into a film and be directed by Elizabeth Banks though i am not sure if that is just rumours but I guess we shall see.
This is yet another book on my shelf I have yet to read so I am determined to read it. I read the first book Miss Peregrine's home for peculiar children last year and really enjoyed it. I love the whole aspect of the book as it was like no other book I had read. There are also cool old creepy photos mixed in which intertwines with the story.
She frees the others in the room and leads them into a corridor filled with the remains of a war long past. The farther these survivors travel, the worse are the horrors they confront. And as they slowly come to understand what this prison is, they realize that the worst and strangest possibilities they could have imagined don’t even come close to the truth. (Goodreads Synopsis)
Review: This books intrigued me from the start. The thought of being trapped in a coffin and coming out into the unknown, not even know your own name left me wanting to know more. Like does that not sound intense! I wasn't to sure as to what I was getting into reading this book but oh am I happy that I picked it up. The character development is brilliant. A lot of the characters especially the main character really grows. Now I don't want to say to much in this review because I do not want to spoil anything and this is definitely a book that you should go into not knowing a lot because boy are you in for a ride. Even if you're not much of a sci-di fanatic I still believe you would benefit from this book and i can guarantee that you will not be disappointed. Sigler takes you on many twists and turns (pun intended) that will having you wide eyed and gasping wondering how you didn't see that coming.

Overall: This is a book that will get you out of that reading slump you're in. If you're looking for something new and exciting then this is the books for you. I love how fresh the material is. I've read nothing like it and that is one thing that I always hope for in a book. Something that I don't feel like I have read before. I highly recommend this one!

Title: Where I belong
Author: Gwendolyn Heasley
Genre: contemporary/young adult

Now this is one of my all time favourite contemporary reads and I can't tell you how many times I've re-read this. Where I belong is short but sweet little story or a girl called Corrinne who has been brought up in a wealthy family. Her father gets laid off on work and her parents decide to send her and her younger brother off to live with their grandparents in Texas which to corrinne seems like the middle of nowhere. The thing I love about this book is the character development of Corrinne she starts off as a whiny girl who has nothing better to do than complain but as the story progresses she becomes a different person changing for the better when she realises that texas is her home now. She makes some bad choices but she more than makes up for them. :)
This is another one of my favourites, I read it every year. Its a great pick me up. Also its a trilogy so you get more of Conrad and Jeremiah :D
This is a great summery read and I can't express my love for these books. If you're in a reading slump and needing a cure this is it. These books will have you laughing out loud and screaming in frustration ( not in a bad way). Highly recommend this one!! :)
This is a series that I fell upon by accident, before you think uh that looks dumb look beyond the cover seriously. Rachel Caine is a seriously talented author and I love these books! I don't want to say too much because I don't want to give away the plot. Its basically about a girl called claire Danvers who moves away to go to college only thing is Morganville (the town she moves to) is run by vampires. Honestly Goodreads has a better synopsis so check that out but this is a great series and its a long one with a total of 15 books. So most definitely check this one out guys you won't regret it.
Review: Lately i've really been into werewolf novels, I have no idea where it came from. I've been a bit obsessed haha. I am just going to put it right out there and say that I didn't really like this one. There was not much of a plot, i'm not even sure that there really was one at all to be honest. The whole book felt rather rushed, it only took an hour or two to read it but I wish I hadn't. I didn't really like the characters either. they annoyed me and didn't really have a lot to them. They had no depth. The book kept mentioning how much kenzie loved kids but it never showed her interacting with them until the end and even then the was brief. Also once Kenzie left her house other than a phone call to let her parents know where she was there was no other communication which was rather strange, I mean if you are going to live with a complete stranger don't you think that her parents would have wanted to at least meet Drake. There were some other small things that ticked me off but I won't delve into those.

Review:
I have been patiently waiting for the release of this wonderful book after reading The Kiss Of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles #1) at the start of the year and if you haven't read the first book yet or this one too for that matter then save this link at come back because I don't wish to spoil it for you.
Mary has created this world where it feels so real, almost as though you are apart of it. Lia is a very strong willed and stubborn Character and she has really grown through out this second book. She had many tricks up her sleave learnt from her brothers one of those being card games, I thought it was hilarious when she thrashed Malich at the card game.

I have this inkling still that Rafe is hiding something from Lia, he hasn't really been completely straight forward but I can't be too sure, what I am sure about is how much he cares for Lia. Throughout the book he is constantly looking for ways to get her out of the Barbarians territory and escape. I also like that the book is not solely focused on the romance though it does have a little bit but its more about Lia trying to survive and Rafe doing what he can to get them out of Venda. I also like that we get a bit more back story on Kaden and the Komizar and we get to understand Kaden on a deeper level.

At first I felt sorry for the Komizar because he was only trying to be a hero but then obviously the power of being the Komizar got to be to much for him and it all went to his head.
When you first meet the Komizar he doesn't seem like much but then you see how feared he is by everyone ( I mean come on he killed the last Komizar while he was sleeping... I bit brutal). One thing that completely surprised me was when the Komizar decided Lia was going to marry him and she had no choice, I was not expecting that at all and I was impressed with how Lia handled it because I know that if I were in that situation I would have been freaking out.

Overall: I thoroughly enjoyed this second instalment of the remnant chronicles and I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a good fantasy and is looking for a well adapted story. I absolutely can't wait for the final instalment.

When I first read the synopsis for this book I really like the idea of Peter Pan type world. I guess that's what really pulled me in.One thing I like about this was that the story was interwoven with the modern world which made it more realistic and put a different spin the fairy-tale. The start of the story Livy is very focused on her sisters death and it kind of consumes her to the point where its taken over her life. Then in comes Meyer who is adventurous and daring, he helps Livy heal. I found that the start of the novel was quite hard to actually get into because I felt as though the writing but it definitely got better as the story continued. I can't say that I fully enjoyed it because I didn't. The first half just felt a bit repetitive and it dragged on a bit but once Never land was introduced I started to enjoy it.

Overall: For the most part of the novel I enjoyed it and I think that any peter pan fans out there would enjoy this retelling of an original tale.
Date Released: July 10th 2013

Format: ebook

Synopsis:If the Seventine are released, will anyone survive?
Abigail Swish might not love her life, living in gang-ridden New York in 2035 and training to fight and survive with Compound 23. But she is grateful for a few things, especially her no-filter-between-brain-and-mouth best friend Lucy and her escape each night into a dream world far different from her own.
In fact, sometimes she lives for the fleeting moments she spends at night with the man who fuels every romantic fantasy she’s ever had. But each morning reality returns. She could just cry. But she won’t of course; tears don’t change a damn thing.
Then without any warning, a month before her eighteenth birthday, everything does change. A guardian finds her. He explains, in a strangely familiar accent, that she was stashed on Earth for safekeeping and has been lost to her family ever since. And it is time to return home. To the First World; a land of unimagined beauty.

Abigail and Lucy find themselves escaping New York, ending up on another planet and traversing through an unforgiving wilderness. Yeah, because that sort of thing just happens every day. Luckily an unexpected saviour arrives; the man from her dream-world. Brace is six-and-a-half feet of gorgeous perfectness, wrapped in an arrogance like no other. Unable to trust his assistance, and unsure which of her instincts to follow - kiss him or punch him in the mouth - Abigail eventually accepts his help to find her family.
And what a family. Enter Josian, her father; larger than life and apparently not even human. He is Walker, a planet-less race revered as gods, causing mischief and mayhem through-out this star-system. Unfortunately, there is no time for a cosy reunion, since no one explained that by returning to First World her half-Walker genetics would act as a catalyst setting forth a chain of events which could spell disaster for not only her existence but that of all worlds. I'm gona be honest and say I read all 6 books on 3days oops. Haha but now I wish I hadn't because I have to wait for the last book ti be released and I must know what is gona happen! I don't read a lot of books with "aliens" but a friend recommended this to me and I am so glad she did because I could not put it down. I love the world building and they way the Jaymin described the different worlds was fabulous. I could picture everything perfectly in my mind. The writing really flowed and I loved Lucy's smart mouth, it got my laughing plenty. I loved how strong and independent Abby is but that she could also go to Brace when she knew she couldn't do something on her own. The bond between the walker girls was awesome and I love how they have all grown so far and I can't wait to meet the final walker girl.

Overall: I'm very excited to find out how the Final battle will commence and I'm curious as to what is Josians fate. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a pick me up because this series will definitely hit all the right spots.
I picked up this book at my local bookstore and didn't realise until the end of the book that the author is a fellow New Zealander :D
This book draws you in from the start. The main character Evie doesn't need a Hero because she is her own hero. At the start she is lost, her mother has just died and she feels as though her world is falling apart but suddenly she starts having odd changes. I like that the story always had something happening, there were not many scenes where there wasn't something exciting. The end was a major plot twist that I was not expecting which I loved because it is not often in a book where you didn't predict the outcome, because lets be honest a lot of books now days can be predictable. The writing was well done but my only complaint would be the information overload as it took a while to sink it all in.

Overall:If you're looking for a good sci-fi with a great plot twist that you will not see coming then this is for you. Synopsis:YOU CAN BE A VII. IF YOU GIVE UP EVERYTHING.

For Kitty Doe, it seems like an easy choice. She can either spend her life as a III in misery, looked down upon by the higher ranks and forced to leave the people she loves, or she can become a VII and join the most powerful family in the country.

If she says yes, Kitty will be Masked—surgically transformed into Lila Hart, the Prime Minister's niece, who died under mysterious circumstances. As a member of the Hart family, she will be famous. She will be adored. And for the first time, she will matter.

There's only one catch. She must also stop the rebellion that Lila secretly fostered, the same one that got her killed and one Kitty believes in. Faced with threats, conspiracies and a life that's not her own, she must decide which path to choose—and learn how to become more than a pawn in a twisted game she's only beginning to understand.

Previously titled Masked.
Review:I will admit this book took me a couple of chapters before I got into it but once the story got going I couldn't put it down. I like that the story wasn't like other books I have read before, it brought something different to the table. There were a few negatives I found with this book such as there wasn't really a reason for why the world was as it is now. Also i'm sorry to say this but I did not like Kitty's Boyfriend Benji. There relationship just didn't do it for me. He is the first and only guy she has loved so of course she wants to be with him because that's all she knows.

“I’m never better off without you,” he said. “We’re in this together. I love you, and that’s never going to change, all right? I’m yours no matter what your rank is. You could be a I, and I would go Elsewhere just to find you.”
Although as this quote shows he is very loyal and he is a wonderful boyfriend towards her . I kind of want to see her get together with Knox because I can see their friendship growing into something more and they have chemistry. I found the bad guys to be really believable and just when you think that they are not that bad they go and prove you wrong. There are a few unexpected turns which is great because I love when the Author keeps you guessing.
.
Overall:
I really enjoyed reading this and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good dystopian read. There were a few flaws but they are easy enough to look over and see the potential for this series. I look forward to reading book 2 Captive.

Cover art: 4
Plot: 4
Characters:5
Writing:4
Level of interest:5
Total rating:4

Happy Reading Everyone!! :D
- Jordan Jordypaigebookshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05969234196712865017noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9054146022999940812.post-43707836703576353362014-08-13T11:48:00.002+12:002014-08-13T11:48:45.093+12:00Vampire Academy: Frostbite (Do you want to see this film come to life?)

I kept guessing what was going to happen and I was surprised every time my predictions were not correct. I feel as though this books is one that I will remember for a long time because it really made me think about things.
Synopsis:
Chasing Prophecy is the story of Mo, a shy teen who is just trying to survive high school. He has secretly fallen in love with a girl named Prophecy who lives with a group that some call a commune and others call a cult. When she disappears, Mo must find the courage to face the monster that her family has become. Chasing Prophecy is a contemporary coming of age story that is heart-warming, suspenseful, and beautifully written. This book chronicles the adolescence of one boy who must transform himself to save the girl of his dreams. The Pacific Northwest legend of Bigfoot is a fresh paranormal element. Review:
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, Thank you James!!I more than often read books in a girls perspective so it was a nice change to read something in a guys perspective. I loved how there were pictures at the starts of each chapter, and it thought it was cool how the characters had quirky names, not your average names. At first the main character Mo seemed like a bit of a wimp because he was getting bullied and he couldn't stand up for him self but his character really developed throughout the story and I admired how he stood up to those who were mean to him and started to have a back bone. There were some parts of the story that were a little dragged out but other than that it was alright. I also liked that Mo was just your average person, he wasn't someone really popular so a lot of people reading the book could relate to him I feel.
I recommend this to those of the ages 13-17 but if you like the sound of this then you definitely should check it out because the story is so unique.
Overall: This was a really interesting concept and a lot different from what I would usually read, I feel for me there was still something missing which is why I gave it 3 stars but it was still an interesting read :)
Cover art: 4
Plot: 3
Characters:3
Writing:4
Level of interest:4
Total rating:3

Where can you buy this:Amazon - ebook
