Authors: Abi Ketner & Missy Kalicicki
Pages: 314
Genre: Dystopian, young adult
Date published: February 18th 2014
Publisher: Abi and Missy Books
Format: e-book
Synopsis:
Fifty years ago the Commander came into power and murdered all who opposed him. In his warped mind, the seven deadly sins were the downfall of society. He created the Hole where sinners are branded according to their sins and might survive a few years. At best.
Now LUST wraps around my neck like blue fingers strangling me. I’ve been accused of a crime I didn’t commit and now the Hole is my new home.
Darkness. Death. Violence. Pain.
Now every day is a fight for survival. But I won’t die. I won’t let them win.
The Hole can’t keep me. The Hole can’t break me.
I am more than my brand. I’m a fighter.
My name is Lexi Hamilton, and this is my story. ( Goodreads synopsis ).
Review: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review, Thank you! I really appreciate it! :)So one of the main things that I have to say about this book is that it was Intense. The first chapter had me gripped from the start, it did not take me long to get hooked. I loved the whole concept of the book and it was a lot different from anything I have read in this genre before. I found that this book had me guessing a lot and it was not as predictable as I had thought. The writing style was great but one thing that really frustrated me was Lexi because well most of the time she was alright but there were some circumstances where I just wanted to punch her because I felt as though she couldn't always think for herself, also she kind of let her brother push her around. The world building was very vivid in my mind and when I was imagining it in my head it was almost as though I was there. At the end of the novel we are left with quite a few unanswered questions so I can't wait for the next instalment to come out :)
Overall: If you love dystopian novels and are looking for something a little different, definitely check this out because it is very captivating.

Format: e-book
Synopsis:
After breaking up with her bad-news boyfriend, Reagan O’Neill is ready to leave her rebellious ways behind. . . and her best friend, country superstar Lilah Montgomery, is nursing a broken heart of her own. Fortunately, Lilah’s 24-city tour is about to kick off, offering a perfect opportunity for a girls-only summer of break-up ballads and healing hearts. But when Matt Finch joins the tour as its opening act, his boy-next-door charm proves difficult for Reagan to resist, despite her vow to live a drama-free existence. This summer, Reagan and Lilah will navigate the ups and downs of fame and friendship as they come to see that giving your heart to the right person is always a risk worth taking. A fresh new voice in contemporary romance, Emery Lord’s gorgeous writing hits all the right notes. (Goodreads synopsis)
Review:
I enjoyed this but the reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I found some things quite predictable which I will not say because otherwise it may ruin the book for those of you have not read it. Other than that it was great, the writing was really good and I was hooked form the start. I liked the friendship Reagan had with Dee, you could see that they would do anything for each other and they are never fake with anyone, they have a true friendship that some would be jealous of. There was a lot of great character development and you could really see Reagan change into a better person and not have to dwell on the past and just live. Matt Finch. Well most of the time a guy is quite confident comes of as arrogant but that is not the case with Matt, when Reagan talked to him with out all his banter he was pretty sweet and he was only hurting with the loss of his mother, it was his way of coping. You could see in the lyrics of the songs he wrote how much he cared for Reagan and even when he didn't know her he wanted to. He is the kind of guy that has his way with words but he means them. I liked that the Romance wasn't to heavy and it came of genuine which I liked.
If you are looking for you contemporary fix you will most definitely find it here. Reagan is overall badass and she spices things up a bit with her attitude. Even under all her attitude she is someone who cares a lot even if she doesn't show it.

To All The Boys I've Loved Before Review
Title: To all the boys I've loved beforeAuthor: Jenny Han
Pages: 288
Genre: Contemporary romance, young adult
Date Published: April 15th 2014
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers
Format: e-book
Synopsis:
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister's ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all. (Goodreads synopsis)
Review:
I was not sure what to expect going into this. I absolutely love Jenny's summer series and I own all 3 books in the trilogy. I have been waiting for this to come out for soo long and I'm glad to have finally read it. Although I prefer the summer series to this, I still really enjoyed it and I would re-read it. This is one of those summer reads, cute and light leaving you with a cheesy grin on your face. This book was a lot different to Jenny's summer series so I could hardly compare it, they are each to their own. To all the boy I've loved before was a sweet and compelling read of a girl finding love where she least expects it. The book ends in a letter which doesn't really leave you with a conclusion so I can't wait to read the sequel but OMG do I really have to wait til 2015 :O
Overall:I Highly enjoyed this and if you have enjoyed jenny's work in the past you will definitely love this and if you haven't read her work then you will still love it if you like contemporary romance. I am going to have to buy a physical copy :)
